We need a little more fun in our lives
On a primitive level, people want to have fun and enjoy life. If you could, in some way, make the most mundane or more difficult tasks a little more enjoyable, do you think people would be more likely to “work” harder to reap the reward of a smile? Physical activity has fallen victim recently to decreased participation and many feel that it is because the “fun” has been removed. However, some people are trying to bring it back. Watch these 2 unique ideas.
Assigment 1: Fun!
Watch the following two videos and write down any thoughts, questions, ideas or insights you might have.
The quotation in the introduction and the “Minds On” videos show us the tangible link between the physical environment and the engagement of people living in it. Communities, school and even individual homes have found themselves in an era of “technological connectedness” resulting in increasingly sedentary populations.

However, there is a growing trend in many areas to develop and alter pre-existing environments to better aid and increase active participation. The push is on to create environments to engage more people in physical activity. The image above shows an outdoor fitness station in Newmarket, Ontario.
