Begin by downloading the worksheet “Ohm’s law lab report.” Then complete the multi-media element entitled “Ohm’s Law.” When you have completed all parts of the report, submit your work for evaluation as instructed above.

As each one has received a gift, use it to serve one another as good stewards of God’s varied grace.

1 Peter 4:10

Electrical Energy Production

Our need for energy is increasing at an ever growing rate. Perhaps as little as one hundred years ago, families needed little more than a few candles for light and a couple of logs for heating and cooking. Today, the typical family requires energy to support every facet of their lives from transportation to entertainment. Our electricity comes to us from many sources: hydroelectric, nuclear, fossil-fuel burning, wind and even solar and geothermal.

Choose any one of the sources of electrical power above and prepare a report that addresses the following:

  • What is its efficiency of electricity production?
  • What impact does this form of electricity production have on the environment?
  • What technologies are being used to improve the efficiency and cost of this form of electricity production?
  • What impact does this form of electricity production have on air quality, land use, agricultural practices, and those who live near the electricity generation site?
  • Consider the quote from St. Peter above. Why are we obligated to look for ways to save energy?

Your report should be limited to a maximum of 600 words.
